In 1997 Flemming Larsen contacted my dojo, Ashihara Karate Frederiksberg, wanting to study a system that offered a sophisticated stand-up game as well as full-contact practice.

Flemming Larsen was already a decorated Japanese Jiu-Jitsu practitioner. As a student, Flemming Larsen showed himself to be hard-working, talented, and always looking for ways to improve his skills.

Not only did Flemming Larsen study Ashihara Karate, but he also extended his knowledge of Jiu-Jitsu, and here I had the pleasant experience of seeing our roles reversed as Flemming Larsen became the teacher and I the student.

For many years Flemming Larsen taught grappling at Ashihara Karate Frederiksberg and the MMA part of the classes offered at the dojo is to a large extent due to his tireless efforts as an instructor.

Flemming Larsen has a keen eye for technical details and is a great teacher.

My collaboration with him has been, and is still, a constant source of inspiration.
